Deathstones
A description of the Deathstone. One of 4 types of focus-imbued gems in the World of Trexlin.

DeathStones are generally small precious or semi-precious gems which are infused with Focus and attuned to a specific individual. The power of the DeathStone is related to the type, size, and cut of the gem, as well as the Focus imbued into the stone.
When a DeathStone is attuned (and carried on a person), it “records” the most recent sights and sounds perceived by the individual. For example, a small cabochon-cut jasper may hold the last few beats of a person’s experiences, while a 40-ray (45 carat) emerald with a moderate Focus imbued can yield dashes of a person’s experiences.
The stone constantly updates and stops at the person’s death. It can then be used to “replay” the last moments of the person’s life.
More powerful stones can “record” thoughts and emotions.
Even more powerful stones, called GodStones, can “record” not only thoughts, emotions, and what the person perceives, but also everything in a 360° sphere around the individual.
Power of the GodStone: This includes seeing through illusions, darkness, etc. This, of course, takes a significantly more powerful influx of Focus—as well as a larger, better gem to hold it.
